tyVehicleHitch Helper

The tyVehicleHitch helper connects two chassis together, such as a towing vehicle and a trailer, with configurable limits on how much the two chassis are allowed to move relative to each other.

tyVehicleHitch helpers are created from a tyVehicle helper’s “Create vehicle part…” menu, not from the Create panel.

  • Front/rear chassis: the two tyVehicleChassis helpers connected by this hitch.

Dimensions

  • Front length/Rear length: the distance from each chassis to the hitch’s connection point.

PhysX

  • Enable collisions: when enabled, the two connected chassis are allowed to collide with each other.

  • Bind ID: an identifying value for this hitch, for reference elsewhere.

Limits

Linear motion
  • X/Y/Z range: the amount of linear play/slack allowed between the two chassis along each axis. A value of 0 fully locks that axis.
Angular motion
  • Limit roll (X): when enabled, relative roll between the two chassis is limited to the specified angle

  • Limit swing (Y): when enabled, relative swing on the Y axis between the two chassis is limited to the specified angle.

  • Limit swing (Z): when enabled, relative swing on the Z axis between the two chassis is limited to the specified angle.
