Inferno Scale operator

The Inferno Scale operator can be used to scale all world-space Inferno parameters.

All world-space parameters across all Inferno operators are tagged internally and will be multiplied by the active scale factor. This lets you globally rescale a tuned simulation without having to adjust every individual world-space parameter manually. For example, if you tuned a simulation in centimeters and need to transfer it to a setup in meters, you can use an Inferno Scale operator as a one-stop place to scale the entire simulation up by the desired multiplication factor.

Inferno Scale Rollout

  • Mode: controls how the scale factor is determined.

Absolute scale value: the scale factor is set to the specified value directly.

Value relative to object scale: the scale factor is derived from the average world-space scale of the specified scene object. This allows the scale to be driven by an animated or procedurally-scaled object.

  • Scale: the absolute scale multiplier to apply to all world-space parameters. Only available when mode is set to “Absolute scale value”.

  • Node: the scene object whose scale will be used to derive the scale factor. Only available when mode is set to “Value relative to object scale”. Clicking Create new will create a tyIcon box object sized to one sparse cube at the current voxel size, which can be conveniently scaled to set the target world-space scale.

Tools

  • Bake scaled values into operators: applies the current scale factor directly to all world-space parameter values in every other Inferno operator in the simulation, then resets the Inferno Scale operator’s own scale back to 1. Use this when you want to commit the scaled values permanently and remove the dependency on the scale operator.
