The Inferno Color operator allows you to modify Inferno simulation color values.
The Advanced rollout provides per-channel relative controls that modulate the interpolation strength based on local simulation values. Each channel can be enabled independently and configured with a min/max range and a curve defining how the channel value maps to the interpolation multiplier.
Interpolation relative to density: when enabled, the interpolation strength will be scaled based on the local density value.
Interpolation relative to fuel: when enabled, the interpolation strength will be scaled based on the local fuel value.
Interpolation relative to temperature: when enabled, the interpolation strength will be scaled based on the local temperature value.
Interpolation relative to velocity: when enabled, the interpolation strength will be scaled based on the local velocity magnitude.
Interpolation relative to meshes: when enabled, the interpolation strength will be scaled based on proximity to the specified mesh objects.
Gradient: color is assigned to voxels using a gradient, optionally driven by density, temperature, or velocity values.
Solid color: a single uniform color is applied to all voxels.
The gradient editor maps the selected relative channel value to a color output. Only available when color mode is set to “Gradient”.
Relative to density: when enabled, the gradient will be sampled based on the local density value.
Min/Max: the density range over which the gradient is mapped.
Relative to temperature: when enabled, the gradient will be sampled based on the local temperature value.
Min/Max: the temperature range over which the gradient is mapped.
Relative to velocity: when enabled, the gradient will be sampled based on the local velocity magnitude.
Min/Max: the velocity range over which the gradient is mapped.
Full interpolation on emission: when enabled, voxels that are undergoing emissions at the current time step will be assigned the color override immediately, rather than interpolating towards it for interpolation values less than 1.0.
Interpolation: controls how strongly the new color value is blended with the existing voxel color each step. At 1 the color is fully replaced immediately; at 0 the existing color is fully preserved.
