Inferno Eraser operator

The Inferno Eraser operator allows you to erase voxel data from an Inferno simulation.

Inferno Eraser Rollout

Objects

  • Object list: the list of mesh objects, particle systems, or tyFlow objects whose volumes will define the erase region.

  • Include this flow’s particles: when enabled, the tyFlow object that owns this operator will also be used as an erase source.

Emission

  • Erase using: controls how the erase region is voxelized.

Points: the erase region is defined by the point positions of the source geometry.

Triangles: the erase region is defined by the triangle surfaces of the source geometry.

Volume: the erase region is defined by the full volume of the source geometry.

  • Eraser thickness: the depth of the erase region from the source geometry surface, in world units.

Eraser Channels

Controls which fluid channels will be zeroed out within the erase region each step.

  • Density: when enabled, density values will be erased.

  • Temperature: when enabled, temperature values will be erased.

  • Fuel: when enabled, fuel values will be erased.

  • Color: when enabled, color values will be erased.

  • Velocity: when enabled, velocity values will be erased.

Meshes

  • Simulate substeps: when enabled, eraser positions will be interpolated across time steps.

  • Split mesh elements: when enabled, each disconnected mesh element will be treated as a separate eraser.

  • Split particles: when enabled, each particle will be treated as a separate eraser.

  • Smooth normals: when enabled, smoothed vertex normals will be used when voxelizing the erase region.

Mesh Filters Rollout

  • Enable matID filter: when enabled, only faces with the specified material IDs will contribute to the erase region.

  • MatIDs: a comma-separated list of material IDs to include.

  • Invert: when enabled, all faces except those with the listed material IDs will contribute to the erase region.

Particle Filters Rollout

Particles from particle system sources can be filtered to restrict which particles contribute to the erase region.

  • Simulation groups: controls which particle simulation groups will be included.

  • Export groups: controls which particle export groups will be included.

Custom Properties

  • Enable custom float filtering: when enabled, only particles whose specified custom float channel value matches the filter condition will contribute to the erase region.

  • Channel: the custom float channel name or names to filter by. Multiple channel names can be specified, separated by commas.

  • Keep zero values: only particles with a zero value in the specified channel will be included.

  • Keep non-zero values: only particles with a non-zero value in the specified channel will be included.
